This is a series of supplementary files created by Bob Crafton to supplement the Front Page Sports Football Pro '95 game. Bob was one of the beta-testers for FBPro '95, and he has created a series of new profiles and plans to make the game more challenging and more like real NFL football in terms of the plays the computer calls. At the bottom of this file is the original post that Bob make to USENET which details what changes are made to the game when these files are used. There are 5 files in this ZIP file: 1) League.zip Default league for the '94-'95 NFL year 2) LGE.zip Default league with some changes 3) Plays.zip Bonus plays Bob crafted, not needed for the revision, but available for use. 4) More.zip Custom plays for use with the revised coaching plans & profiles. 5) Plans.zip The revised coaching plans & profiles. Unzip the files into the following directories: League.zip and LGE.zip: into SIERRA/FBPRO95 (or wherever you have your league files) More.zip : into SIERRA/FBPRO95/CUSTOM/MORE (new directory) Plans.zip: into SIERRA/FBPRO95/STOCK (be *sure* to backup all your .PLN and .PRF files before doing this, as this will overwrite these files!) --- FPS Football Pro 95 Author: BobCrafton Date: 1995/06/20 Forum: comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.misc Football Pro 95 is simply the best football simulation on the market. For those of you who love it as much as I do, and are interested in making Football Pro 95 more competitive and harder to win against the computer teams, then this is for you. My goal was to create the most realistic league I could while making it harder to beat the computer teams. To do so required starting over with the profiles, changing the gameplans a lot, and completely redoing all of the ratings for the entire league. I was a beta- tester for Pro '95' and my profiles were used by Dynamix in this game. However, Pro '95' has much better AI and since I gave them the profiles that I created BEFORE alot of the game was finished, there was room for improvment. I have once again redone ALL of the profiles and ALL the gameplans to again create a much more realistic league with a realistic and quality computer opponent. Below is a list of what I have done to create a realistic competitive NFL-like league..... - Edited each rating for each player in the league according to their NFL stats & particular attributes - Created up to the last minute league mimicking real life trades and transactions for all teams before the '94 season - Added and edited 150 free agents of real-life NFL free agents - Edited the offensive gameplans so that HB1 will now get 70-95% of the carries depending on plan selected by the computer. - Edited the offensive gameplans to remove "bad" plays that result in frequent fumbles or penalties (includes some stock plays that were worthless) - Edited all of the gamplans so that on 3rd and 10, the computer now has plays available to it which allow it to throw for the 1st down instead of throwing shorter. - Edited the gameplans with respect to 3rd & 1 plays so that the HB1 will likely get ball, and eliminated that irritating WR reverse Goalline play that never worked!! - Edited the gameplans so that the computer will now use screen plays which work great against blitzes and will keep you heavy blitzers honest!! - Edited the offensive profiles for 1st and 2nd halfs for each of the 6 types of offense, ie (OFFPA1 & 2, OFFRA1 & 2, etc...). Took forever because of over 30,000 "situations". OffPA is 65% passing/35% running, OffPB is 55% passing/35% running, OffPC is 50% passing/50% running etc... - Edited the defensive profiles for 1st and 2nd halfs for each of the 6 types of defense. - Edited the defensive gameplans to eliminate "bad" plays that resulted in frequent long touchdowns and blown coverages - Added about 170 new plays including new goal line runs & passes, and new defenses against goal line runs & passes. - Edited the 2PAT conversion so that the computer will use them in the correct situations now. - Edited the defensive gameplans so that each plan is either 4-3 or 3-4 alignment. - Created new Pro Bowl formulas which are better for roster selection than the default ones. - Edited the uniforms and Team Profiles for each team. Now each team will mimick its 94 season percentages of pass vs. run by using the proper game profiles. Basically, I redid all the profiles to give the computer the chance to call the right plays in the right situation. I spent about 600 hours on the above stuff so I spent a huge amount of time to create a realistic league. I believe that I have succeeded because in my league at home, Reggie White let the league in sacks (21), Andre Rison and Sterling Sharpe were the leading receivers in catches, the highest rated QB was Steve Young, etc. Because the computer teams are "better" now, I was 6-10 at the end of the season, and I consider myself good!!! The results that I got were excellent and I am very pleased. If you are interested in obtaining my files or you have any questions, please send a message to my MAILBOX. I look forward to hearing from you!! Bob Crafton
